Celebration in Honor of Prof. Dr. Hans Bühlmann on the Occasion of his 90th Birthday
On 3rd February 2020, RiskLab and the Seminar for Statistics celebrated Hans Bühlmann's 90th Birthday with a Fest-Colloquium at ETH Zurich.

The keynote speaker, Hans Föllmer, Professor at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and former colleague of Hans at ETH, looked back on more than 50 years of Hans Bühlmann's path-breaking research. He illustrated some of the key concepts in actuarial science which had been introduced by Hans, such as Credibility Theory, Optimal Risk Exchange, Actuary of the Third Kind, Stochastic Discounting or the Market-Consistent Valuation Portfolio. Hans Föllmer's presentation was followed by congratulation addresses by representatives and friends from many different areas, including Sarah Springman (Rector of ETH Zurich), Paul Embrechts (Professor at the Department of Mathematics, ETH Zurich), Klemens Binswanger (President of the Swiss Association of Actuaries), Hansueli Gerber (Professor at the University of Lausanne and former PhD student of Hans Bühlmann), Peter Bühlmann (Professor at the Department of Mathematics, ETH Zurich, and son of Hans), Walter Kielholz (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Re), Martin Balleer (former President of the German Actuarial Association) and Jim MacGinnitie (former President of the American Academy of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, International Actuarial Association, and Society of Actuaries).
